Therapeutic Thursday

I felt: Relaxed - I had an osteopathic treatment in the morning, and an Indian Head Massage in the afternoon. Not quite a spa day, but it was still pretty good!

I slept: 7 1/2 hours in 3 chunks. I'm really light sensitive, and as the dawn comes earlier, so does my waking.

I worked out:  42 minutes of cardio-sculpting with Allie del Rio's Time Crunch Cardio. Given how many people have been telling me I shouldn't be lifting stuff, I decided to go lighter with the weights. I used 3ks, 2.5ks, 2ks and 1ks for heavy, medium, light and cardio.

I ate:  30g chocolate, 80g biscuits, 40g halva - total 150g.

I am grateful for:  Adaptability.

Yoga Wednesday

I felt: Chuffed that I managed to pack most of my altar supplies and pagan knickknacks. Don't want removal men touching any of that!

I slept: 8 hours in 4 chunks, but still felt tired...

I worked out:  18 minutes of yoga in the early morning, chanting to Kali - nice to return to this practice. I thought about it because, with the house move, I may not be able to do anything but yoga for a few days next week. Later, I did 41 minutes of cardio-sculpting with kickboxing - Kelsie Daniels Pump, Jump 'n' Jab. Used 3k dumbbells and it was quite tough, but good :)

I ate:  80g flapjack after lunch, 60g chocolate and 60g biscuits after dinner - total 200g.

I am grateful for:  A bit of time to get myself organised.

Wednesday 26 February 2014

Less Tense Tuesday

I felt: Tired, but glad that I did a meditation this morning.

I thought: About my son's teeth, as we went to see the dentist. It was the best behaved he's ever been, which was a relief. He's probably going to have to see dentists a lot in his life, given the issues he has with reflux, eating, and his tooth-grinding :(

I slept: 7 1/4 in 4 chunks - meh!

I worked out:  36 minutes of cardio-sculpting with Allie del Rio Pointer's Hard Core Fusion Express. Afterwards, I decided to get a couple of the workouts from the Express DVD in their full format. However, turns out the full length Cardio Party is only 6 minutes longer than the Express version, so not worth it.

I ate:  29g chocolate after lunch, 21g biscuit at tea, then 39g biscuits, 150g cake and 29g chocolate after dinner - total 268g :(

I am grateful for:  Life.

Sunday/Monday

Sunday

I felt: Sad hearing about the troubles my MIL is having. My DH's disliked stepfather needs several operations, and is likely to end up needing total care.

I slept: 8 1/4 hours in 4 chunks - rather disrupted as I was worrying about some swelling I noticed during my first waking.

I worked out:  41 minutes of cardio-sculpting with the lovely Alison Davis-McLean in her curvy, girl-next-door period :)

I ate:  6g chocolate after lunch, then 73g biscuits at "tea-time" and 164g biscuits and 30g chocolate after dinner - bad day! Total 273g.

I am grateful for:  My health.

Monday

I felt: Worried in the morning, then relieved after I did a bit of internet searching. I'm now certain I don't have a prolapsed uterus, though I may have an inguinal hernia. However, looks like it shouldn't be an issue for giving birth, at least.

I slept: 8 1/4 hours in 4 chunks.

I worked out:  51 minutes of Ellen Barrett's Blood Type Workout. I did it with 1/2k's for the cardio section, and 1.5ks for the sculpting section.

I ate:  35g of biscuits after lunch, then 185g of biscuits after dinner. Total 220g.

I am grateful for: Being able to find helpful information online.

Strong Saturday with Pics

I felt: Virtuous: we did a load of packing for the move. I was having trouble sleeping, so got up and packed three boxes at around 3.30am. Later, my DH and I managed to pack another 17 boxes while our son played and "helped" :)

I thought: About the "pregnancy workout" dvd's I had, and decided to give them all away. I don't intend to be pregnant again, and I haven't used them much, as most of them are aimed more at people who didn't exercise before they got pregnant.

I slept: 8 1/4 hours, despite the early morning packing.

I worked out:  51 minutes of step and sculpting with Cathe Friedrich's Body Fusion. I did it with 2.5k weights (5.5 lbs), whereas Cathe et al were using 3lbs, and last time I did it I used 2ks. Altogether I felt strong and fit and good about being 42 years old, 37 weeks pregnant, and still able to do a Cathe "intermediate" workout :) So, decided to take some pics, seeing as I've hardly got any of me this pregnancy. Excuse the weird photoshopped mask...

I ate:  21g biscuit after lunch. 109g chocolate and 75g biscuits after dinner. Total 205g.

I am grateful for:  Feeling fit and well.

Saturday 22 February 2014

Fitful Friday

I felt: Sad that I haven't had more time to read blogs. I feel a bit cut off!

I thought: How nice it was to see my mum.

I slept: 7 1/2 hours in 3 chunks - up several times with my son, who was quite ill yesterday before bed. Weird dreams again, this time about my dad being alive but drunk, and not being able to remember the way between two places I used to drive quite often, and getting angry at the A-Z, because it was really unclear. At least there were no blood and guts this time...

I worked out:  33 minutes of Cardio Party Express, with 1/2k weights added. Felt pretty much like a rest day, though I did also go for a walk, pushing my son uphill in his buggy - about 26k, though on wheels :)

I ate: 6g of chocolate after lunch, and 120g biscuits and 42g chocolate after dinner - total 168g.

I am grateful for:  School starting back on Monday, and my son being better so he should be able to go.

Friday 21 February 2014

Baby Thursday

I felt: Excited and nervous about the baby coming. I went to visit a friend and her baby on Wednesday, and it made everything feel more real. In about three weeks, one way or another, this baby will come out and join our family!

I slept: 8 3/4 in 4 chunks - yay!

I worked out:  41 minutes of cardiosculpting with Emily Walsh's Burn and Shape.

I ate:  180g biscuits after dinner.

I am grateful for:  The fact my DH still wants snuggles with me. I've heard some men are put off by a heavily pregnant woman, and I'm glad he's not one of those.

Thursday 20 February 2014

Slacker

I felt: Guilty - I forgot a meeting I was supposed to attend until my DH mentioned it, at the time it was supposed to start! My unconscious telling me to take a day off? It has been a full-on week...

I slept: 8 hours in 3 chunks - very broken, though. I got up and wrote a couple of emails at 3.30am, and also did a hynobirthing meditation. My dreams have also been quite full-on recently. I woke myself up just before a dream degenerated into an unpleasant operation, but the previous night I dreamt about a blood-soaked maternity ward...

I worked out:  45 minutes of Ellen Barrett's cardio-pilates - Fusion Flow.

I ate:  85g chocolate and 115g biscuits - total 200g.

I am grateful for:  A working washing machine.

Wednesday 19 February 2014

Tired Tuesday

I felt: Glad I managed to fit in a hypnobirthing meditation - it's getting so close!

I thought: About all the things I forgot to say in an interview for a disabled car badge for my son *doh*

I slept: 7 hours in 2 chunks.

I worked out:  40 minutes of cardio sculpting.

I ate:  65g chocolate, 100g biscuits - 165g - not too bad.

I am grateful for:  Washing machines. Ours has broken down, which makes me appreciate how much time and energy it normally saves me!

Tuesday 18 February 2014

Manic Monday

I felt: Thoroughly stressed. Spent 3 and a half hours at the hospital with my son, discovering he's allergic to far more things, and far more seriously, than we realised. He's now been prescribed an epipen. Then, in the afternoon he had the worst allergic reaction he's had so far - bright red in the face, with blue lips - not fun!

I thought: "Why'd the damn washing machine have to break just 2 weeks before we move house!"

I slept: 7 3/4 in 4 chunks.

I worked out:  46 minutes of Cardio Fusion Express - light cardio sculpting with Emily Walsh.

I ate:  35g biscuits and 9g chocolate after lunch, and 100g cake and 60g chocolate after dinner. Total 204g, but it felt like more.

I am grateful for:  The joys of walking in the winter woods.

Monday 17 February 2014

Musical Sunday

I felt: A bit on edge - took my son to FUNharmonics at the Royal Festival Hall, and it was quite stressful in some ways, though fun in others. It was too hot, so he ended up with a heat rash, and having booked "disabled access" seats, we ended up with "wheelchair" seats, but not having wheelchairs, we had nowhere to sit! It worked out, as there were plenty of empty spaces anyway, but it didn't help make it easy...

I slept: 8 1/4 hours in 4 chunks - not bad.

I worked out:  36 minutes of Cathe Friedrich's Hard Strikes - fun, even if I didn't have time for all the sculpting work. I did the cardio section with 1/2k weights, and worked up a good sweat. I needed something to work off my stress from the morning.

I ate:  43g chocolate, 82g cake, and 88g biscuits - total 213g.

I am grateful for:  Exercise - a great stress reliever!

Sunday 16 February 2014

Up and Down Saturday

I felt: Quite emotional. Stuff going on at work, and stuff going on in my head.

I slept: 7 1/2 hours in 4 chunks, including a half hour nap mid-morning. This is what comes of talking about tough choices and work that needs doing just before bed. However, I hadn't had any other time to talk about it...

I worked out:  35 minutes of Allie Del Rio's Hardcore Fusion Express, didn't have time for more.

I ate:   About 80g of cupcake after lunch, and 100g cake, 75g chocolate and 18g biscuits after dinner. Total 273g - not good!

I am grateful for:  My DH - he is so loving and supportive, and nice to snuggle with, too ;)

Saturday 15 February 2014

Quick Catch-Up

Thursday

I slept: 8 1/4 in 6 chunks - not great, but much better than the previous night.

I worked out:  22 minutes of Sculpt-ilates (the Firm's take on Pilates) - the workout is actually half an hour, but I stopped when they got to the belly-down floor work. Then, 33 minutes of Cardio Party Express (from the same multi-programme DVD). I'd been nervous about doing this, worried there'd be too much high intensity, but it was pretty easy to adapt. I did it with 1/2k weights, and ended a bit sweaty. Would do it again.

I ate:  I think it was something like 48g chocolate and 120g biscuits, but that's a wild guess, as I don't seem to have written it down. Total about 168g.

Friday

I felt: Happy that my baby is no longer breech, that's one weight off my mind.

I thought: About how uncomfortable I sometimes feel in social situations. Went to a baby shower for my son's class teacher, who is due about 4 days after me. First baby shower I've ever attended, and I wasn't sure what would be "appropriate" as a gift, and felt a bit self-conscious, as everyone else's gift was bigger, if not always more expensive. It doesn't help that I don't know most of the other parents all that well.

I slept: 6 1/2 in 3 chunks - bah!

I worked out:  46 minutes of Cardio Overdrive - cardio sculpting.

I ate:  A bit of cake at the baby shower (maybe 60g), and a bit of cake after dinner (a nice chocolate one), about 150g. Total, about 210g.
I am grateful for:    Some reassurance about my baby. He's a good size - not small, not too big...

Thursday 13 February 2014

Teary Wednesday

I felt: Teary and exhausted. My son was off school sick, and my DH is really feeling the pressure. He went out to work in the afternoon, and was much happier when he came back.

I thought: About how families fall apart or stay together. Hope we'll manage to be one of the latter.

I slept: 6 1/2 in 4 chunks - the peril of going to bed late.

I worked out:  45 minutes of stepping with Kari Anderson's Go.

I ate:  29g chocolate after lunch (a Walnut Whip from M&S), and 70g chocolate and 54g biscuits after dinner - total 153g. Not bad, considering the day I'd had.

I am grateful for:  A partner who at least tries to understand his emotions and talk them through.

Wednesday 12 February 2014

What To Do?

I felt: Upset - my DH isn't coping well with the stresses we're under at the moment. He didn't eat any dinner, and he's got an eczema outbreak. He's trying to protect me, but if he carries on this way he won't be able to help as he'll wear himself out :(

I thought: I should do less weights workouts - my forearms were very tight when I saw my osteopath today. However, I'm bored with the static bike and my step workouts, and can't handle the ballet because of the emphasis on the calves. I still get leg cramps most nights, but especially if I've overexercised my calves during the day. Not sure what that leaves me...

I slept: 8 1/2 in 5 chunks - yay!

I worked out:  37 minutes of Alison Davis McLean's Ultimate Fat Burning Workout. I was in a rush, so had to cut it short.

I ate:  90g biscuits and 40g chocolate after lunch - bad start! Later, 35g biscuits and 30g chocolate. Total - 195g - could have been worse...

I am grateful for:  The support we do have.

Tuesday 11 February 2014

New Old Workout

I felt: Annoyed at myself for thinking about some work that needed doing when I could have been sleeping.

I thought: About doing some yoga, but went and took over from my DH with our son instead. Although he'd said he would take him to the school bus, he was obviously shattered, so I was glad I'd made that choice.

I slept: 7 3/4 hours in 5 chunks, including a 15 minute power nap in the afternoon.

I worked out:  41 minutes of cardio sculpting with Allie del Rio Pointer. This is another of the Pink Firms, pre-Tabata, which just arrived this morning. I rather enjoyed it, though there was a lot of swapping around between medium, light and heavy weights (4k, 3k, 2k, and 1k's for the cardio bursts). Much better for me than the latest Firm's, which are too high impact.

I ate:  63g chocolate after lunch. 125g chocolate and 100g chocolate brownie after dinner. Total 288g - not good! However, I skipped both a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack, a reminder of why I have them. I'd much rather eat a healthy snack than have sweet cravings!

I am grateful for:  My DH, a wonderful partner in life.

Monday 10 February 2014

Snacking Sunday

I felt: Happy to see a face from the past - someone I hadn't seen for a couple of years came to visit with her 15 month old daughter.

I thought: About my due date getting closer - the woman who came to visit had her waters break and was induced at 36 weeks, and I'm 36 weeks on Thursday.

I slept: 7 3/4 hours in 5 chunks

I worked out:  51 minutes of cardio-sculpting with Alison Davis McLean's Bootcamp Workout.

I ate:  70g cake as a mid-morning snack :( After dinner, 88g chocolate and 54g of biscuits. Total 212g.

I am grateful for:  A clear plan for my baby's birth, even if everything else goes a bit haywire.
